Federal unions—and all unions—are under attack.

Last night, the Trump administration took its most blatantly anti-worker, anti-union action yet: an executive order stripping the right to organize from hundreds of thousands of federal workers at more than 30 agencies.

Throughout Black History Month, the national AFL-CIO is celebrating Black union members and their contributions to the labor movement. Today, they are recognizing Kirby Boyce, member of IAM Local Lodge 1746 and President of the Eastern CT Area Labor Federation!

February is Black History Month. And while we celebrate Black labor leaders and union members, both past and present, who have advanced real change, we won’t ignore the moment we find ourselves in right now. 

Yesterday, the Labor & Public Employees Committee held a public hearing that would protect workers in warehouse distribution centers and allow workers on strike to access unemployment insurance.
