Rebuilding a roster is always difficult. When we set out on putting together a new look CS:GO side, we knew what we wanted to achieve from the outset: a higher level of consistency, stronger team performances while also posting an emphasis on young talent and clear leadership.
Yesterday we announced the first set of changes to the Fnatic CS:GO lineup, Maikil ‘Golden’ Selim promoted to the roster as IGL, while Andreas ‘Samuelsson’ Samuelsson takes over as the new Team Manager.
Today we announce the final piece of our puzzle - we’re so happy to be welcoming Jonas ‘Lekr0’ Olofsson back to Fnatic!
Now starting his second spell with the team, he’ll complete a lineup seething with young talent. With these changes, we’ve managed to lock in some of Sweden’s best up and coming players to long term contracts, with the ambition that we will be providing much greater stability and team growth over time.
That does however mean we must say goodbye to another of our stars. Dennis “Dennis” Edman has been a wonderful servant to Fnatic since joining the side at the end of 2015, a time that we as an organisation will always cherish. He is one of, if not the best pistol player in the world, and while in recent months we haven’t achieved the results we wanted to as a team, we are hopeful that he will still reach the heights of which he’s capable.
