I led the industrial design for POTV's first fully customized production vaporizer, creating the exterior form and contributing to an improved user experience, including button integration and USB-C charging positioning. My responsibilities also encompassed assisting in the development of the user interface for the device's screen, as well as designing the structural packaging and associated artwork.

Prepara

Cookbooks and recipes have been progressively integrated into digital media and tablets are the most supported device to access them. As a kitchenwares company, Prepara saw the market opportunity to design a feature-rich tablet stand that was centered for kitchen use.

With design direction from Dean and Matt, I was able to bring the Iprep from early concept sketches all the way to production, ensuring a valuable end product that is both useful and cost effective.

Keurig

At the emergence of single serve brewing popularity, there became a need for peripheral accessories to help push this movement and support their novel features. 

One of Keurig’s unique target is serving to iced beverage drinkers. At Pollen Design I was tasked to fulfill a need in Keurig’s Brew Over Ice category with a double wall insulated carafe that allowed users to chill 4 servings of their favorite drink at a time. A straightforward design language paired with strategic manufacturing processes resulted in a well-received product for many to enjoy Keurig's new, chilled drinks.

Marley Natural

Designed at Greenlane

Our team designed the Black Walnut Riggler with seven interchangeable components to offer users a customizable smoking experience. To guarantee precise fit and tolerances, we collaborated closely with a borosilicate glass manufacturer, including a review of processes and samples in China. We also developed the structural packaging with protective pulp inserts and contributed to the design of related marketing and packaging materials.

Prepara

The Herb Shears were designed to simplify a tedious step of finely chopping herbs. And although this type of tool already existed, Prepara sought to enrich the experience by simply adding some key features that we saw were missing, such as spring loaded functionality for quick and natural operation. 

I was tasked to align this new tool with Prepara's existing form language and used their popular Garlic Press as inspiration. The soft, sweeping lines are meant to visually offset the blades and feel welcoming in your hands.

For the iPhone X launch, Incipio was in need of a complete redesign to stay competitive. After the team developed a new design ethos and philosophy, I was tasked to create three new styles and refresh the rest of the product line using this new language.

Prepara

Stirring, mixing, and beating are usual tasks for everyday bakers, but commonly used electric and stand mixers are expensive and troublesome. At Prepara, we were tasked to create the first effective battery operated handheld mixer; and open up the availability of a new type of tool.

My early involvement from sourcing varying motors and gearboxes continued all the way through to the execution of the final form. The development of the Batter Beater heavily relied on in-house prototyping to find the proper balance of power and efficiency in the combination of the motor and beater head shape.

Bang & Olufsen

As a licensee of B&O, Incipio Group was tasked to design and develop a collection of mobile device accessories that helped expand the brands tech and lifestyle presence. The iPhone case collection created with precision-engineered details and authentic materials (such as full grain leather and aluminum) aligned with the brand’s existing products of high end audio.

Higher Standards

Higher Standards’ Heavy Duty Glass Collection was in need of new products to help keep the brand current and relevant. With a plan to grow the already successful Heavy Duty Glass collection, the Heavy Duty Spoon Pipe was introduced as a truly portable smoking pipe for connoisseurs.

Prepara

All current apple slicers provided the same results. At Prepara, we solely wanted to create an apple slicer that would cut apples the way we always wanted them; in perfectly portioned thin slices. 

After 8 dozen apples, 14 different blade configurations, and many months of rigorous testing we were able to find the right balance of desired slices and ease of use. And although the handle was dictated by ergonomics and cost effective materials, the form was carefully sculpted to appear otherwise.

Because Prepara had already manufactured a kitchen tool with a glass jar, there rose an opportunity to generate more concepts to efficiently utilize common parts.

Starting with an existing glass base, Just Juice was conceived with the desire to simply make a better citrus juicer and help promote the brand's healthy lifestyle image. A naturally food safe glass jar coupled with a diligently tested reamer and a thoughtful storage cap made this juicer an easy addition to Prepara's product offerings.

In order to introduce Prepara products to supermarket/hypermarket retail channels, a new packaging style needed to be applied. Considering this new market space for Prepara, a refreshing style was developed with playful product imagery and more cost effective dielines to help differentiate the products from their conventional approach.
