Hideyoshi sends Kazutoyo as an emissary to Odani to negotiate the safe passage of Azai Nagamasa's wife Lady Ichi and her children. Kazutoyo gives his word to Lady Ichi that all her children will be spared. Azai Nagamasa commits suicide as Odani falls to Nobunaga's troops. Nobunaga rejoices at his reunion with his sister Lady Ichi, but secretly orders the death of her son, the heir to the Azai House.
