In his desperation, he is hard-working on a secret machine in his basement. This machine will provide a fully immersive VR simulation for Arthur, through which he can relive the past memories with the love of his life. Yet, the simulation has many technological flaws and makes Arthur experience many discomforting experiences. As he fades more and more away into this constructed reality, his real life begins to crumble, even his relationship with his life-long best friend Pete, who tries to warn Arthur about the repercussions of his invention.
