In order to choose who gets the role, The Grim Reaper sends them on a mission to collect the soul of Holy Moly, a priest on Earth; promising that whoever claims the souls will get the job. After wasting their time by fighting with each other, Lucifer and Satan lose the chance to collect the soul at the hands of the Grim Reaper, and acknowledge that their friendship should be stronger than anything.
