When she recovers in the ICU, she asks doctors to prevent Commander Marquand's visits. Fifteen days later, Victor Lemonnier sees Camille Verdier, an expert court psychiatrist, who was investigating the case of the accused Dumont murder, fall from the top of a staircase in the Salle des Pas Perdus in the Palais de Justice.
