Den Gegenstand dieser Erfindung bildet ein Korkzieher, der erstens den Kork unbeschädigt aus der Flasche entfernt und zweitens diese Entfernung durch seine eigenartige Einrichtung bedeutend erleichtert. Er besteht aus zwei Stahlfedern α, die, durch ein Scharnier b an einander befestigt, um den Bolzen desselben drehbar sind. An den Enden c dieser Federn sind zwei Hebel d drehbar angebracht, die wiederum durch einen Bolzen e verbunden sind. An dem Bolzen e ist ein Griff g befestigt, der, aus einem Cylinder bestehend, eine Aussparung hat, in welcher der obere Theil der Federn a und die Hebel d sitzen. In dieser Aussparung sind zwei Federn f angebracht, die, auf die oberen Enden von α drückend, ein Umkippen der ganzen Verbindung verhindern. Um mittelst dieses Korkziehers einen Kork aus der Flasche herauszuziehen, setzt man die Spitzen der Federn α auf den Flaschenkopf so auf, dafs sie zwischen den Kork k und den Flaschenhals h eindringen können, was man durch Drücken und leichtes Hin- und Herbewegen erreicht. Ist der Korkzieher so weit hinuntergedrückt, dafs die Federn α den Kork k wie eine Zange umfassen, so zieht man an dem Griff g, während man demselben zugleich eine Drehung ertheilt. Durch den Zug an dem Bolzen e werden die Hebel d aus einander gedrückt, die Enden c der Stahlfedern a von einander entfernt und die unteren Theile von α einander genähert. Hierdurch wird der Kork k erstens sicher festgehalten und zweitens so zusammengeprefst, dafs die Reibungsfläche zwischen Kork und Glas bedeutend vermindert wird; die zum Herausziehen nöthige Kraft braucht also bedeutend geringer zu sein, als wenn der Kork auf seiner ganzen Oberfläche den Flaschenhals berühren würde.The subject of this invention is a cork puller which, firstly, removes the cork undamaged from the bottle and, secondly, significantly facilitates this removal by its peculiar device. It consists of two steel springs α which, attached to one another by a hinge b , can be rotated about the bolt of the same. At the ends c of these springs two levers d are rotatably attached, which in turn are connected by a bolt e . A handle g is fastened to the bolt e , which consists of a cylinder and has a recess in which the upper part of the springs a and the lever d sit. Two springs f are fitted in this recess, which, by pressing on the upper ends of α , prevent the entire connection from tipping over. In order to pull a cork out of the bottle by means of this corkscrew, the tips of the springs α are placed on the bottle head in such a way that they can penetrate between the cork k and the bottle neck h , which is achieved by pressing and gently moving it back and forth. When the corkscrew has been pushed down so far that the springs α embrace the cork k like a pair of pliers, pull the handle g while at the same time imparting a rotation to it. By pulling on the bolt e , the levers d are pressed apart, the ends c of the steel springs a are removed from one another, and the lower parts of α are brought closer to one another. In this way the cork k is firstly held securely and secondly pressed together in such a way that the friction surface between cork and glass is considerably reduced; the force necessary to pull it out must therefore be considerably less than if the cork touched the neck of the bottle over its entire surface.

A corkscrew, consisting of two steel springs α α attached to each other by a hinge b , which hold the cork when tightened by the action of the lever dd and at the same time press it together so that it can be easily pulled out.
