Abstract

1,132,493. Polyamides. CARL FREUDENBERG. 21 Feb., 1966 [18 March, 1965], No. 7529/66. Heading C3R. Incompletely condensed polyamides having a relative viscosity between 1À3 and 2À1, i.e. 55-75% of the completely polymerized material, and a m.p. between 105‹ and 160‹ C. may be used as fabric adhesives. They may contain a plasticizer. In examples polyamides are produced from (1) caprolactam, hexamethylene diammonium sebacate and 0À05% zinc, (2) caprolactam and trimethyl hexamethylene diammonium adipate and (3) caprolactam, hexamethylene diammonium adipate and benzene sulphonic acid butylamide. In Example (3) the product is applied in a mixture of MeOH, trichloroethylene and water.
