Abstract

1,224,927. Dispensing measured quantities of liquid or granular material. M. A. K. BLUMEN. 28 Aug., 1968 [29 Aug., 1967], No. 41063/68. Heading B8N. A device for dispensing a measured quantity of liquid or granular material from a container having a neck comprises a first cup-like member 11 having an aperture 12a in its base and adapted to frictionally engage the container neck, a second cup-like member 13 having an aperture 13a and a depending stop-member 15 which extends through the aperture 12a, and a cap 16 for screw-threaded engagement with the container neck, the cap having a depending annular wall 17 adapted to frictionally engage within the second member. A shoulder 14 on the second member engages in a groove 12b in the first member. When the cap is screwed on to the container the apertures are in register due to frictional engagement between the wall 17 and second member and inversion of the container will effect filling of the second member. Unscrewing of the cap will rotate the second member until the apertures are out of register. Complete removal of the cap will then permit the liquid or material to be dispensed.
