Abstract

1416430 Electric motors SOC CIVILE DE RECHERCHES EN MATIERE DE MICROMOTEURS ELECTRIQUES 10 Nov 1972 [10 Nov 1971] 52106/72 Heading H2A In an electric stepping motor comprising a thin permanent magnet rotor 8 mounted between two radially spaced stator parts 5, 6, one at least of which has N teeth and the rotor being radially magnetized to have N pairs of alternately positive and negative poles on each of its surfaces, the stator carries an auxiliary permanent magnet 8b facing an extension 8a of the rotor remote from the stator parts 5, 6, the auxiliary magnet 8b having N pairs of alternately positive and negative poles. The auxiliary magnet provides an auxiliary torque enabling the motor to be operated by short unidirectional current pulses, part of each rotor step being produced by electromagnetic torque and part by the torque produced by auxiliary magnet 8b.
