223,930. Bongiovanni, L. Oct. 25, 1923, [Convention date]. Regulating. - In a twostroke engine, the charge, entering by ports 5, is compressed by the piston in the bottom of the cylinder and passes through a tubular extension 2 of the piston to the combustion chamber when ports 10 have passed gas-tight rings 9 adjustably fixed in a bell 3 which forms an extension of the cylinder. Alternatively the bell may project into the cylinder and have ports which are uncovered by a ring fixed to the extension 2, the bell itself being adjustable in height.
