Abstract
262,898. Ostrorog, S. J. Oct. 29, 1925. Bulbs. - In an anti-dazzle device for vehicle lamps, searchlights, &c., the unreflected rays forming the innermost portion of the beam are passed through a relatively strongly tinted zone I<1>, the greater portion of the reflected light is passed through an untinted or weakly tinted translucent zone M<1>, preferably formed by frosting, whilst the more diverging reflected rays may be passed through a narrower transparent zone O<1> which is tinted less strongly than the zone I<1>. In all the zones the intensity of the tinting and frosting may be gradually reduced towards the front of the bulb. That part of the zone M<1> which is traversed by downwardly directed rays may be left transparent, and this zone may also be divided by narrow trans. parent sectors extending the full width or only a part of the width of the zone. The tinted and diffusing mediums may be composed of glass, cellulose compounds, artificial horn or the like, or of non-inflammable, damp and heat-proof material, such as that known under the registered trade mark " cellophane."
