Abstract
265,455. Holub, C. July 13, 1926. Colour filters.-With the object of eliminating glare from artificial light a light filter is manufactured from silk by washing ordinary silk fabric or artificial silk fabrio in soapy water, dipping it subsequently in a weak aqueous solution of formaldehyde and then drying the material. The fabric is then coated with a thick colloidal substance consisting of gelatine or like material and water to which is added a saturated solution of copper sulphate or copper ehloride. After coating and before drying the coated fabric is subjected to formalin fumes for several days to render the coating insoluble. In use the filter 2 is placed between glass covers 3, 4 secured bv a metal rim 5. and used in lamps &c. for all kinds of lighting.
