Abstract
378,634. Coils for dynamo-electric machines. SIEMENS - SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. July 31, 1931, No. 21930. Convention date, Aug. 7, 1930. [Class 35.] Insulation.-For protection against glow discharge, especially near the core ends of dynamo-electric machines, semi-conducting material such as asbestos tape 5 is wound in helical form about the outer surface of the conductor insulation 4, with some or all of the turns insulated from one another. In the case of dynamoelectric machine conductors, an insulating tape 6 may be inserted between individual turns at a certain distance from the core, and the pitch of the turns may be varied so that the extent to which the turns overlap is varied. Other semi-conductive material may be used such as cotton tape impregnated with triaryl phosphate.
