493,665. Two - stroke - cycle engines. PETERSEN, O., and SOLVER, E. Oct. 4, 1937, No. 26767. [Class 7 (ii)] In a two-stroke-cycle doubleacting compression-ignition engine having a main piston 1 and a pair of auxiliary exhaustcontrolling pistons 11, 19 all of the same diameter and working in a common cylindei with each auxiliary piston opposed to the main piston and of shorter stroke than the main piston the power from the auxiliary pistons is transmitted to the crank-shaft by eccentrics 17 located one on either side of the crank 5 of the main piston. The cylinder may be supported in the vicinity of the scavenging ports 10 by a frame or the like mounted on the bedplate of the engine.
