Abstract

504,905. Ornamental glass panels. BUTTON, H. F. Nov. 17, 1938, No. 33381. Drawings to Specification. [Class 20 (iii)] An imitation leaded window or other transparent panel comprises two sheets of glass with pieces of transparent coloured material sandwiched between them, the edges of these pieces being so arranged that they are hidden by opaque designs formed on the inner surfaces of the two glass sheets. The opaque pattern is formed in obverse on one sheet and in reverse on the other, and may be applied by printing or painting. The coloured transparent material may be of celluloid, gelatine, or the like. The edges of the glass sheets are joined together to provide a watertight joint by cementing or by lapping them over with thin sheet lead. The panels may be used as windows, as decorative panels intended to be hung near a window, or as part of a lamp-shade.
