Abstract

519,595. Filters. GREEN, C. E. Sept, 27, 1938, No. 28106. [Class 46] A piston-like filter, which is reciprocated in a pot or other vessel to filter coffee, tea &c. comprises rigid apertured discs 1, 2. with an intermediate filtering disc 7 of gauze, silk or the like and a flat flexible washer or washers 6, 6a, projecting outside of the discs 1, 2 to engage the wall of the pot. As shown in Fig. 2, a boss 3 fixed to the disc 1 screws on to a part 4 fixed to the disc 2 and an operating rod 5 screws into the boss 3. As shown in Fig. 4, the disc 2 has a depressed ring portion 2d to receive the washer- 6 and the end of the rod 5 is threaded internally to screw on the part 4. Specification 395,548, [Group VI], is referred to.
