Abstract
527,940. Lamp caps. EGYESULT IZZOLAMPA ES VILLAMOSSAGI R. T. April 24, 1939, No. 12248. Convention date, April 23, 1938. [Class 38 (i)] [Also in Group XL] In a gas discharge tube, designed so that only 'short non-luminous portions occur between successive lamps arranged in a row, one or each end of its tubular bulb is closed by a dished, disc-like or capsule shaped closure member made of pressed glass, with external metal contact pieces attached thereto without using an adhesive. In one form, Fig. 2, a closure member 2, is fused to a glass lamp-bulb 1 at flanges 1<1>, 2<1> and current-supply and anchoring wires 5 and 6 of electrode 7 pass through its walls, being fused respectively to metal contact plates 8 and 9. These plates may be.pressed wholly or partly into the glass or fused thereto, or they may be provided with further anchorages 3 and 4. They may also have laterally projecting contact plates 10 and 11 fixed to or made integral with them. The plate 8 protects a pump-tube 12 located in a depression in the closure member 2.
