Abstract

586,331. Boxes. CLARK, G. W. J., and CLARK, S. G. Sept. 15, 1944, No. 17728. [Class 18] A cardboard box comprises a lower receptacle 15 to contain confectionery, and an upper receptacle 10 constituting a hinged lid for the lower receptacle and having a slidably withdrawable tray or drawer 11 for cigarettes; the box is made up from a lid blank, a tray blank and a lower receptacle blank, and one of the sides of the lower receptacle has an upward extension 17 acting as a hinge for and stuck to the lid. The corner pieces 16 of the lower receptacle blank are stuck to the inside of and are slightly less in height than these sides, so that the lid may rest on them. To hold the lid closed, a tongue 13 thereon engages a recess provided on the inside of the front wall of the lower receptacle by a piece of cardboard stuck thereto.
