Abstract

687,968. Filter-presses. CRUICKSHANK, Ltd., R. Aug. 9, 1951 [Sept. 7, 1950], No. 22042/50. Class 46 A filter cloth for a filter-press comprises the combination of a frame a, Fig. 1, made from flexible sheet material, such as rubber or rubberized fabric, of an impervious character and a sheet c of permeable material, e.g. of woven cotton spread over and attached to the frame as by sewing the edges of the sheet c to the inner edges b of the frame. As shown in Fig. 1, two or more frames, integral with one another, may be obtained from one sheet and a sheet of permeable material is attached to each frame. A pair of such frames may be placed over a plate d, Fig. 5, of the press-filter assembly. Two or more holes e, Fig. 1, serve to engage locating pegs f, Fig. 5, on the plate d and holes g, Fig. 1, lie opposite fluid passages in the filter assembly.
