Abstract
755,374. Cable end sleeves; electrostatic screens for couplings. PIRELLI SOC. PER AZIONI. July 13, 1954 [Nov. 24, 1953], No. 20432/54. Addition to 752,377. Drawings to Specification. Classes 36 and 38 (1). In the joints or terminals for high-tension cables disclosed in the parent Specification, the stress-distribution ring is made of a synthetic resin similar to, and having approximately the same coefficient of expansion as, the insulation in which it is embedded, the ring being rendered conductive by the combination therewith of a conductive material such as a metal or carbon black. The conductive material may be applied as a coating on the surface of the ring, or may be incorporated in the resin from which the ring is formed. The ring may be connected to the cable sheath.
