Abstract

920,158. Vibrator motors. DE HAVILLAND AIRCRAFT OF CANADA Ltd. May 24, 1961 [May 25, 1960], No. 18736/61. Class 122 (2). A fluid-operated vibrator motor (Fig. 1) comprises a cylinder member 10 having closed ends and inlet 13 and outlet 14, 15 port means, a double-acting piston member 11 axially slidable within the cylinder member and having an axially disposed bore, a valve member 12 slidable within the bore and of a length greater than the piston member, lands 17, 18 on the piston member adapted to block the outlet port means upon relative movement of the piston member and the cylinder, transfer passages 19, 34, 30, 40 in the piston member communicating with the bore and land means on the valve member arranged to block and to open the transfer passages upon relative movement of the piston and valve members by virtue of the engagement of the end of the valve member with the end of the cylinder towards the end of each stroke of the piston member whereby fluid reversal is effected in the motor. In a modification, the valve is cushioned. Fig. 3 shows a modification employing a solid valve. Fig. 4 is another modification employing further type of valve member.
