Abstract

970,176. Valves. CRANE CO. April 26, 1962, No. 15991/62. Heading F2V. A rotary ball valve comprises a cage 11 removably secured by nut 13, engaging sealingly at 15 the walls of a casing chamber 6 and carrying retainer rings 16 the inner ends of which provide seats for the ball 28. The cage openings are aligned with the casing openings by engaging ribs 18, 19, 21, 22, and an annular nut 33 holds the bonnet 32, stem 36, handle 47 and stem seal 43 in position, while resilient washers 24 force the seat member 26 axially inwards on to the ball. By removing the rings and bonnet, the ball may be withdrawn upwards from the cage. Specification 936,686 is referred to.
