This invention relates to a toy cradle, the general object of the invention being to make the cradle in the form of a container so that candy or the like can be placed in it, and to provide rockers for the cradle which can be placed in the box with the candy or other contents when the device is put up for sale. A

A further object of the invention is to make the box or the body of the cradle from a single sheet of material which is so cut that a completely covered box can be formed thereby.

This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claims.

In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of the box.

Figure 2 is a view of the blank from which the box is to be formed.

Figure 3 is an end View of the complete cradle.

Figure 4: is a perspective view of one set of rockers for the cradle.

In these views, A indicates a box which forms the body of the cradle when the cover of the box is removed. This box is made from the blank shown in Figure 2 and as shown in this figure, the entire portion of the box is formed from one blank. The bottom is shown at 1, the sides at 2 and the cover parts at 3 and 3. The ends of the box are formed from the extensions 1 of the bottom 1 and the-extensions 2' of the sides 2. One extension 2 of each pair is provided with a notch A which forms a tongue to engage a slot 5 in the other extension of the pair. The extensions 1 are first bent upwardly and then the extensions 2 are placed in overlapping relation upon the extension 1' and the tongue placed in the slot 5 which will hold the ends and sides in upright position, as shown in Figure 1. The part 3 is then bent into horizontal position and then the part 3 is overlapped upon the part 3 and its tongues 6 placed 1926. Serial No. 111,837.

through the slots 7 in the part 3. This will form a complete and closed box, as shown in Figure 1.

A pair of rockers 8, formed of suitable material, is provided with the tongues 9 on their upper edges for engaging the slots 10 formed in the bottom 1 of the box, the rockers being connected together by the cross piece 11 which is notched at 12 to engage the notches 13 in the rocker. Thus a rocker device is provided for the box which is of very strong construction, when the parts of which are assembled. When the parts are unassembled, they can be placed in the box.

The device can be sold alone, or candy or other articles can be placed in the box. Then after the candy is eaten or removed, the device can be used as a toy. Of course, the rocker arrangement can be put on the bottom of the box before the same is sold.

It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.

I desire it to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claims.

What I claim is 1. A combined receptacle and toy cradle, comprising a blank of material including a bottom, and foldable side and end walls, and cover sections, said bottom having spaced pairs of slots adjacent the ends thereof, rockers normally arranged within the receptacle and adapted to be associated with the bottom thereof, tongues projecting from the upper edge of each rocker and adapted to be received by one pair of slots in the bottom of the receptacle to convert the receptacle into a toy cradle, and a bar detachably connected with said rockers.

2. A combined receptacle and toy cradle, said receptacle having spaced pairs of slots in the bottom thereof, a pair of rockers, tongues projecting upwardly from each rocker and adapted to be removably received by one pair of said slots, a connecting bar arranged beneath said bottom and detachably connected with said rockers.
