really liked it

This book was a super interesting read for me as a millennial. I’m only six years older than the oldest Gen Zs (we would have been in elementary school at the same time!) but in many ways, their upbringings and teen years were so different from mine due to the rapid acceleration of social media and smartphones. This book really gave me a peek into their world. I don’t agree with all of the author’s arguments and conclusions, and parts of the book felt a bit dry, but overall it was pretty insightful. I think this is a worthwhile read for anyone interested in the direction our society is heading in…whether you’re a parent, a young person, or (like me) just curious.

Ari Damoulakis I want to read this. I have heard of another book that also addresses this problem supposedly. Bad Therapy By Abigail something. I say supposedly, because a review I read said book is Conservative and supposedly scientifically inaccurate. The religious right Trump brigade. I know too little about therapy to say anything about that. So this book and her one I will read to look what they say about the subject.

Rosh A very interesting title and a pertinent topic as well. Smartphones have become quite addictive, and kids don't know how to stop doomscrolling. I'm glad there's increasing awareness about this.
Great honest review, Jillian! Wish the book hadn't been dry. The rest sounds compelling.
