Rosoboronexport rejects information on Russia’s loss of positions in global arms exports

According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute report, Russia’s share on the global market of arms exports fell from 21% to 7.8% over the past five years

MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. Rosoboronexport has rejected the information in a Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) report on Moscow’s loss of its positions in global exports of arms and military equipment, the Russian state arms exporter said in a statement posted on Telegram.

"Rosoboronexport rarely discloses information about contracts signed and supplies of Russian military products completed and only upon agreement with partners. This is why SIPRI experts, working as they state with open information sources, cannot be provided with comprehensive data for conducting objective analysis of results of the company’s activities," the statement reads.

According to the institute, Russia’s share on the global market of arms exports fell from 21% to 7.8% over the past five years. The report claims that the US is currently on top of the list with a 43% market share, followed by France with a 9.6% share. Swedish analysts added that Ukraine has become the world’s largest arms importer for the first time, being supplied by 35 countries.
