BEIJING, March 28. /TASS/. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will arrive in Russia on a three-day visit on Monday, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
"At the invitation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi will pay an official visit to Russia from March 31 to April 2," the ministry said in a statement released on its website.
Guo Jiakun, a Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, said at a news briefing that Wang would meet senior Russian officials and hold talks with Russia’s top diplomat, Sergey Lavrov.
According to the Chinese diplomat, "in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the two leaders, China and Russia have maintained the unwavering spirit of good-neighborhood and friendship, comprehensive strategic cooperation and mutually-beneficial interaction, while continiously deepening strategic ties and making a major contribution to promoting further bilateral contacts and protecting the basic norms underlying international relations."
