What to Know

Critics Consensus

Breaking In has a clever premise and no shortage of good ideas, but the jokes and dialogue fall a little flat.

Robert Bianco USA Today The characters and the plot twists combine to make the time pass painlessly. Apr 6, 2011 Full Review Diane Werts Newsday Less pander, more wit, please. Rated: B- Apr 6, 2011 Full Review Mike Hale New York Times Breaking In isn't memorable in any way, but it's fast-paced and easy to watch, with some amusing secondary characters. Apr 6, 2011 Full Review Ed Bark Uncle Barky Breaking In succeeds only in being a stupendously bad half-hour of television that should be charged with breaking and entering into unsuspecting living rooms. Rated: F Apr 6, 2011 Full Review Chris Conatan PopMatters If Christian Slater has proved anything over the past few years, it's that he can't draw a television audience. Rated: 4/10 Apr 6, 2011 Full Review Matt Roush TV Guide It falls into that category of being fairly clever without really being funny or all that amusing. Apr 6, 2011 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Like the first season of The Office, it was good, not great, but you can definitely see the potential! And, what I think they were doing, was showing the potential, so that if it did get picked up for a second season (they were given a 7 episode first season) they would do better and "reach their full potential!" But, yes, it's a good show! Great characters and performances (with Christian Slater as Oz, and Trevor Moore as Josh being standouts. But everyone kills it!) great writing, a great and unique premise, and everything else being pretty great too, all made for a great first season, and a great show! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I really enjoyed this season I found the episodes and acting to be pretty well written and preformed.. I just wish they would have kept the format it was in.. as the second season kinda lost alot of steam. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
