A woman has died after being hit by a car in a seaside town.

The pedestrian, aged in her 40s, was killed when she was struck by a Vauxhall Astra car on Regent Road in Morecambe at about 20:30 GMT on Tuesday night, Lancashire Police said.

The driver stopped at the scene and the woman's next of kin have been informed, the force said.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw what happened or who has any mobile, CCTV, or dashcam footage to get in touch to help with the investigation.
