After working in tourism and commercial advertising, WINTER represents a consistent interest in...See moreBased around a poem, the short film WINTER is an invitation to Michigan in mid winter, to witness the trials and triumphs of difficult seasons. After working in tourism and commercial advertising, WINTER represents a consistent interest in telling truer stories of places that are important to our team. The effort took our team all over the state of Michigan and places to places and into situations we never would have found ourselves in stay-at-home weather. The short film production covered 3 months, 1000+ Michigan miles, 40+ cast and crew, 20+ footage hours, and multiple packs of hand hand warmers. Producing anything Covid is difficult, but this project was right for the time- not just because many of the locations were isolated and difficult for a crew of any size to reach, but because the poem "Winter" is about expecting home and clarity in seasons of difficulty.
