Sounding pedal.

The present invention relates to a sounding pedal, its strings and mechanics behind the seat of the player, whose buttons, however, are attached in front of the same, so that in connection with an ordinary piano or an organ can be played.

In the upright box A, Fig. 4, of the pedal, the soundboard B and the metal frame D are attached, on which the strings χ are attached. As can be seen from FIG. 5, the strings are mounted diagonally on the frame in order to have the greatest possible length with a limited height of the pedal.

The mechanics are roughly the same as on an ordinary piano, only the pushers α are significantly longer than usual, as the hammers are higher.

The device for moving the damper bar b, by which the dampers are lifted from the strings in order to lengthen the tone, as well as the device for adjusting the hammer stop bar d, to change the strength of the stop, are also different from those previously used for this purpose Devices. The frame G of the pedal keyboard is expediently made independent of the rest of the housing, but both can also be combined with one another. The pedal keys G ¹ are fastened with hinges / on a cross rail f ^l and are influenced by springs / ² , which strive to lift the outer ends of the keys. Otherwise the pedal keys are constructed in the same way as the well-known pedal keyboards on organs. The keyboard shown in the drawings contains 30 keys. At the inner end of each key there is attached an adjustable pin g which acts on one arm of a lever H rotatably mounted in the projecting part A ^{1 of the housing.} This lever acts on a second lever H \ which carries the rocker h to support the pusher α. The pins g are made adjustable in order to compensate for any inequalities in the keyboard. The purpose of inserting the HH ¹ levers is to make the width of the mechanism smaller than the width of the keyboard. This is achieved in that the levers H and H \, as can be seen in FIG. 6 , converge radially from the keys G ^λ . In this way, the width of the machine head corresponds exactly to the width of the diagonal strings. The levers H are influenced by springs Λ ¹ , which strive to push the connecting points of the two levers upwards. Instead of using the levers HH ^1, which converge in the form of rays, it is also possible, as shown in FIG. 9, to attach right-angled arms i to the ends of the keys which carry levers i ¹ on which the rockers are attached. The right-angled arms vary in length depending on the location of their respective keys.
