Auf diese Weise kann diese Zündkerze unter Ausnutzung der ohnehin vorhandenen Kühlung auf annähernd konstanter Temperatur gehalten werden, und zwar unabhängig von der Art des Motors, der Motordrehzahl und auch der Fahrweise. An seinem gegenüberliegenden Ende ist das Metallrohr 13 mittels Gewinde 14 in den äußeren Mantel 4 eingeschraubt. Das Metallrohr 13 erweitert sich in dem aus dem äußeren Mantel 4 herausragenden Abschnitt unter Bildung einer Schulter 19. Zwischen der Schulter 19 und der Außenfläche des äußeren Mantels 4 ist ein weiterer Dichtring 16 angeordnet.
