Abstract

A method of immunological determination involving a reaction of an antibody with an antigen to form an antibody-antigen complex, characterized in that the insolubilization of the antigen-antibody complex formed by said reaction is increased using a reagent in said assay method comprising an aqueous solution of a mixture of said polyethylene glycol and a nonionic surfactant, said aqueous solution containing, in use, about 3% to 6% by weight of the mixture, and having within said range a calculated value of ehl (hydrophilic equilibrium- lipophilic) comprised between about 0.7 to 1.7.
