Abstract

Cross-roller chain for load transfer and conveying purposes has rollers at 45 deg. to the vertical and fitted with load hangers or brackets so as to travel with the chain in a tube slotted below for the hanger entry. The rollers are carried in bow shaped chain links which overlap and register with holes there for the roller axis. All the roller axes of one type of roller involved in the system are extended beyond the width of the links, as compared with the relatively 90 deg. offset axes of the second set of rollers. Together with this, or instead of this, sleeves are fitted on the links responsible for holding the rollers of the first type, or the sleeves are carried freely on the ends of the axes of these rollers.
