Abstract
The pneumatic drive has a main cylinder (1) with a central pressure chamber and a piston (2) on either side. The pistons oppose each other, and are connected via a joint to a drive shaft. The piston rotate a disc (30) which has recesses (30a) for rollers (40), and is connected to a drive shaft (34) in the working chamber (3). Compressed air is supplied through an inlet (4) to the working chamber (3), the volume of which varies according to the piston positions. At each end of the main cylinder (1) is a pressure cylinder (7) with a piston spring-biased against the end of the working piston (2) push rod (11). This rod has a central bore (12) which opens (16) into the pressure cylinder (15) and into the working chamber (3). The pressure piston (7) is pushed back against the spring force by the compressed air, and air is squeezed out (35) of the cylinder. This frees the rod (11) and allows the shaft (34) and disc (30) to rotate.
