Abstract

The rotary heat and moisture recuperator for a ventilation system has a rotor with thin blades which can be alternately flat and curved having a porous structure through which the air can pass. These blades are made of a noninflammable fibrous material such as glass fibre, to hold a hydroscopic salt solution, and the curved blades are covered with aluminium foil. This aluminium foil is treated with a substance so that it has a hydroscopic properties by reacting with it so that its structure becomes porous. At the same time it protect the foil from corrosion by the salt solution. The aluminium is treated before it is bent and before assembly on the rotor. The substance used is preferably lithium nitrate.
