Abstract

The dry transfer material comprises (a) a non extensible support sheet made of a translucent polymer film having low elongation under stress produced by light rubbing or polishing, the sheet carrying a surface layer of a non extensible polymer; (b) printed ink images or signs on this surface polymer which can be transferred onto a receptor surface without the application of heat; (c) a coating of a pressure-sensitive adhesive over these images or signs, the adhesives having self-adhesive props. on the receptor surface to which it is applied. The support sheet is 25-65 mu m thick. The material is able to adhere by itself to suspended vertical or horizontal surfaces, e.g. walls, furniture, etc. before the actual transfer stage of the image, without need of mechanical or adhesive prefitting means. The images are transferred uniformly, by light rubbing or polishing, onto any objects subjected to abrasion, detergents and abrasive cleaning means.
