Abstract

The fire protection system comprises a double bank of water spray nozzles set over each set of oil-heated radiators used for drying the cereal. Each set of spray banks is controlled by a temp. sensor located in each compartment of the dryer, in the drying airflow. If the temp. rises, the relevant sensor opens a valve into the corresponding spray bank and water is sprayed over the dryer radiators. This water immediately turns to steam and displaces the air to create an atmosphere which extinguishes and conflagration.
