Abstract
The thermostat valve (6) is controlled by a temp.-responsive T-element across which the cooling medium from the engine passes. The valve closure element (11, 19) allows the cooling medium to be passed to a radiator and/or to a bypass line for direct recirculation. The T-element is inserted in an expansion capsule (14) within the circulation path of the cooling medium and includes a heating resistance (22) supplied with a current dependent on a given engine operating parameter.
