Abstract

A photographic film comprises a film support and an antistatic backing layer having a binder which is (a) an addition polymer of toluene di-isocyanate and 1;2-di-(2-sulpho-4-aminophenyl)ethane, (b) a quaternary salt of an ester of ethanolamine and polyacrylic or polymethacrylic acid, or (c) a mixed acetal of polyvinyl alcohol with benzaldehyde and a sulphosubstituted benzaldehyde, and containing as lubricant up to 50 per cent by weight of an aliphatic alcohol or carboxylic acid having from 14-18 carbon atoms. Lubricants specified are myristyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, myristic acid, palmitic acid and stearic acid.
