Abstract

1,073,550. Cylinders. DAIMLER-BENZ A.G. May 7, 1965 [May 8, 1964], No.19385/65. Heading F1B. To reduce the contact pressure between a flange 14' of a cylinder liner 14 and the block 11, a stepped annular member 13 is interposed therebetween. Relative radial positioning between the block and member 13 is provided by abutting surfaces 17 and between member 13 and the liner by abutting surfaces 16. A coolant chamber 19 is connected with the cylinder head coolant chamber 20 by one or more passages 18 and passages 27. The junction between the member 13 and the cylinder head in the region of each passage 18 is sealed by a bush 21 and a compressed ring 24.
