A foamed polyurethane cushion pad (12) is formed on one face with a plurality of spaced protuberances 16 of uniform height defining cavities 18 therebetween and includes ridges 20 extending between the protuberances 16. The apices of the ridges 20 lie in a plane midway between the planes containing the peaks (24) of the protuberances 16 and the nadirs (26) of the cavities 18. A cover sheet (14) is supported on the protuberances 16.
