Abstract
1,143,111. Shuttleless loom. A. E. MOESSINGER. 28 Feb., 1966 [1 March, 1965; 9 April, 1965], No. 8651/66. Heading D1E. In a gripper shuttle loom a shuttle feeler 9 is located in the shed and must be moved by the shuttle to prevent the loom stopping, failure of the gripper shuttle to reach the switch operates a thyratron controlled stop motion. A similarly acting feeler 28 is provided in the shuttle box to stop the loom if the gripper shuttle is incorrectly boxed. Fig. 6 shows the weft 111 before beat up by the comb 102. The weft is held by a suction tube 108 and pulled back. A weft feeler stop motion 112 is provided to detect the wefts presence at beatup and yarn cutters 115 and a suction tube 114 to remove the weft end are provided near the fell. The nozzle 110 is not mounted on the slay and a guide 113 is provided to push the weft away from it at beat up. In a modification the nozzle 110 is replaced by a fan shaped nozzle. The thyrotrons in the control circuit may be replaced by relays.
