Abstract

1,145,002. Sieve drum driers. VEPA A.G. 16 Feb., 1967 [11 March, 1966], No. 7483/67. Heading F4G. [Also in Division D1] In drying textile material on sieve drums 5 subjected to suction draft by fan wheels 7, the fan wheels and the sieve drums are so mounted within the housing 1 that the front wall 2 of the housing is entirely free of driving or bearing elements and thus doors can be provided in the wall to provide easy access during repair work. Each sieve drum is supported via a drum spider 18 on a shaft 10 which passes through the hollow fan wheel shaft 14 which is driven by a motor 15. Alternatively the sieve drums may be supported via a bearing or a raceway 23 and rolls 22 on a front base-plate 24 (Fig. 4). Two superposed sieve drums may be each subjected to the suction draft of one fan wheel arranged between the drums, in which case the shafts 10 need not pass through the fan wheel (Fig. 2, not shown).
