Abstract

1,148,000. Reciprocating pumps and motors. LINDE A.G. Nov.30, 1966 [Dec.1, 1965], No.53606/66. Heading F1A. In an axial piston pump or motor the block 5 is urged into engagement with the valve plate 2 by pressure applied from the ports 3 to chambers 24, 27, which pressure acts between shoulders on the axially movable pintle 11 and the fixed housing 1 supporting the valve plate 2, the pintle engaging the end of the block 5 through a thrust bearing 15. Initial engagement is maintained by a spring 18 engaging the block and bearing. In a modification the thrust bearing is replaced by a thrust chamber connected through non-return valves to the pressure chambers. The pressure chambers are formed between shoulders in the housing and on a sleeve (33) secured to the spindle.
