Abstract

1,175,316. Fusible cut-outs. AMP Inc. 29 Aug., 1968 [27 Sept., 1967], No. 41257/68. Heading H2G. [Also in Division H1] A fuse connector for a cartridge fuse comprises a sheet metal body formed with an aperture 7 defining a pair of side arms 8 between which a resilient tab portion 9 projects, tab portion 9 being integral with the body at one end and at its free end being arranged to engage an end of the cartridge fuse whilst the fuse end is between side arms 8, ends of side arms 8 being integrally joined by a bar portion 11 to limit deflection of tab portion 9. The connector body is formed as a plug (as shown) or a socket. Two pairs of connectors are mounted in cavities in a moulded insulating block 13, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown), by being plugged into holes in the block, covers being provided for the cavities, and a cartridge fuse 14, Figs. 3, 4, is mounted between each pair of connectors by each end of the fuse fitting into a hole 12 in tab 9. The plug or socket portions of the connectors project into a recess in the lower side of the block for receiving a complementary housing containing socket or plug connectors. Further plug connectors without fuse contact portions may be plugged into holes 23, Fig. 3, for connecting to the fuse connectors to connect the fuses into a number of circuits.
