Abstract

1,190,803. Treating charge; spray carburetters. R. BOUTELEUX. May 23, 1967 [May 23, 1966; Nov.22, 1966; May 8, 1967], No.23975/67. Heading F1B. Fuel-air mixture from a carburetter is homogenized in a device comprising a truncated conical chamber 4, with air inlets 8, 9, and a truncated conical perforated baffle 7. The air inlets may have filters 13, 14, associated therewith and may be controlled manually or automatically by suction actuated devices. In Fig. 7 the air supply passage 46 to the chamber 4 is formed in the carburetter wall and is controlled by a member 44 actuated from a cam 45 on the throttle spindle. During deceleration the fuel supply to the carburetter idling jet is cut off by a centrifugal device or, as shown in Fig. 9, electrically by a relay 53 operated by pulses from the ignition circuit. Above a predetermined engine speed relay 53 energizes electromagnet 57 to cut off the idlery fuel.
