Abstract

1,218,964. Foil mounting in a papermaking machine. DOMINION ENG. WORKS Ltd. 16 Sept., 1968 [27 Sept., 1967], No. 43891/68. Heading D2A. Roll support bracket means non-rotatably support a table roll below the usual wiresupporting position; upwardly extending mounting pad means are attached to the roll intermediate the ends, and at least one foil is mounted thereon in wire-supporting relation and level in the cross-machine direction. The foil or foils may be of fixed or variable camber. As shown, journal 14' is welded or otherwise attached to side plates 32 carried by bearer 34 suported at both ends (only one shown) by support posts 36 and adjustment nuts 38. Support posts 36 are attached to the machine frame. Foil support brackets are attached to the roll shell as by screws 54, 56.
