Abstract
1,253,267. Rubber/resin foams. GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER CO. 10 Feb., 1969 [11 March, 1968], No. 7031/69. Headings C3C and C3P. A high energy absorbing foam rubber contains the rubber and resin solids of a blend of a diene rubber latex and a film-forming resin latex, the resin being a copolymer of a conjugated diene and a vinyl aromatic monomer in a ratio by weight of 30/70, the ratio by weight of rubber latex to resin latex being 65/35 to 50/50, the foam rubber having an ASTM D-1564 rebound of not more than 21% when measured between - 20‹ and 120‹ F. and an ASTM D- 1055-17 compression set of not more than 11%. The rubber latex may contain a rubbery copolymer of styrene and butadiene- 1,3 and the resin latex may contain a resinous copolymer of styrene and butadiene-1,3.
